AKRON, Ohio (WKRC) – A former Ohio police officer has pled guilty to creating and sharing child pornography. A judge set the officer’s bond to $1 million “in order to protect the public.”
34-year-old former Akron police officer Geoffrey Parker was arrested on Aug. 16 after his dissemination of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) piqued the interest of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), according to a statement from Prosecutor Philip Zuzolo to Signal Akron.
Parker allegedly took multiple pictures of a 4-year-old girl”in a state of nudity,” according to criminal complaints obtained by Signal Akron. Parker then allegedly posted these images in a group chat on the app Kik with the intent on receiving more CSAM, Zuzolo told the outlet.
