ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. — A 36-year-old Elkhart man has been arrested on six counts of Child Molesting Fondling or Touching a Child Under 14, and one count of Dissemination of Matter Harmful to Minors.
Authorities say the suspect, Zackery Pollard, had been abusing a 16-year-old victim from the time they were seven years old.
“At certain points in the forensic interview, the victim became so uncomfortable talking about the sexual abuse that they had to write it down instead of saying it out loud,” the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office said.
“The victim stated that Pollard did these things while they were living in St. Joseph County and Elkhart County. The victim became too emotional to continue the forensic interview, so the interview was concluded.”
The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office first received a report of Pollard’s alleged crimes on Dec. 5, 2024.
