CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — An Ohio man was arrested for sex crimes after he was spotted at a Carlisle truck stop with a runaway girl, police announced Thursday.
Britain Hawk, 33, of Euclid, Ohio, is accused of calling an Uber Monday to take a 13-year-old girl to a hotel in Middlesex Township, according to charging documents.
Police said the man and child spent the night at the hotel and had unprotected sex. They reportedly checked out of the hotel the next day and stayed in Hawk’s truck overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday.
Middlesex Township police officers were called to the Petro Travel Center, located at 1201 Harrisburg Pike, around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday after receiving reports the runaway girl was spotted at the truck stop with the man.
As a result of the investigation, Hawk was charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with minor, corruption of minors, and criminal use of a communication facility.
