Brooke High School principal charged following discovery of hidden cameras, investigation continues

BROOKE COUNTY, W. Va. (WTRF) — Brooke High School Principal Eric James was put behind bars after investigators said four recording devices were found inside girls’ facilities at the school.  The county prosecutor said James is preliminarily charged with two felonies: violating the state’s wiretapping law and entering without breaking. The sheriff’s office said the devices were found in the female PE locker room, varsity locker room and a dressing room used primarily by the dance team. Search warrants were executed at the high school and at James’ home in Marshall County.  Seized devices are now being examined at a crime lab in Morgantown. After that search is complete, victims will be notified. Officials said right now, the kids are the most important aspect of the investigation. “The kids feel betrayed, I think we all feel a little bit betrayed with this,” said Jeffery Cook, Brooke County Schools superintendent.
